Garthdee Community Council represents the interests of residents and businesses within the Garthdee area of Aberdeen. We act as a voice for the local community, working to ensure that the views and concerns of residents are heard by Aberdeen City Council and other public bodies.
Community Councils are the most local tier of representation in Scotland. Our role is to engage with the community, gather feedback on local issues and help shape decisions that affect the area.
Garthdee Community Council works on behalf of the community to represent local views to Aberdeen City Council and other organisations. To consider and comment on planning applications affecting the area. Raise and respond to local concerns such as traffic, antisocial behaviour and environmental issues. Support and promote community initiatives and events. Encourage community involvement and participation in local decison making.
Garthdee Community Council covers the Garthdee area of Aberdeen, including residential neighbourhoods, local businesses and key facilities, such as retail, education and community spaces.
We hold monthly public meetings where members of the public are welcome to attend, raise issues and hear updates on local matters. Meeting dates, agendas and minutes are published on this website. We encourage anyone with an interest in the community to come along and get involved.
We work closely with: Aberdeen City Council, local elected councillors, Police Scotland, Community Groups and organisations, local residents and businesses. Our aim is to help improve the quality of life in Garthdee by working collaboratively and constructively with all stakeholders.
